Obviously audio lessons on forex can be iffy since you can't look at charts, but i'm trying to fit in as much forex content as i can with the little free time i have. I've found several that seem ok, but as you all know it's a very saturated space so i'm looking for any suggestions. (If you are affiliated with a podcast you are suggesting, please mention that).
Hi all, I am getting into forex and working my way through the baby pips school at the moment. I will be driving for 5 hours tomorrow by myself so wanted to see if there were any good forex podcasts that I could listen to. I'm looking for introduction and beginner friendly to go along side the babypips site. Any recommendations?
Forex podcast and general information for entertainment
I've been listening to Rob Booker lately and it has been inspirational, so I wanted to share with everyone else. He does teach stuff, but I would not get tied up in all that. Just listen to his podcasts and enjoy market related entertainment that is not bloom burg trash etc. https://soundcloud.com/thebookerreportlink to his Soundcloud Edit: Also I encourage other people to comment who know of quality material that is worth listening too that can be life and market related, similar to Rob's stuff
First, I want to thank all the individuals that help me on this sub-reddit. I've come across many other trading groups but this has been the most memorable. I've been trading for about 2-3 months now but, it was strictly penny-stocks the USA Market. I learned a lot there but I seemed to fail every time. I didn't know anything about Forex until a mechanic introduced me to babypips. From there I began to learn the trade. For about 2-3 weeks straight I studied what the website could give me. But, I knew i couldn't learn everything from there. My father still tells me "Birds of common feather, flock together." so i went out to find a group of forex traders. About half way in I thought to myself, all the forex traders probably live in super foreign countries on high level platforms that i would never gain access to unless I was born in the "Circle". But then one day while i was looking at $SNAP memes and /wallstreetbets I thought to myself, "Why not look in Reddit?". And sure enough I found this group. I read though a bunch of the hot post and knew that this was the place. So I asked questions, learned things and tried to fit in. So in comes the trading. I've been using TD Ameritrade since I started so that's the platform I've been using. Since I graduated high-school last year and only had one job, I knew that I would have to start with the minimum amount. So I opened up a Demo account and put $2,000 in. I have to say the first few days were more of luck than skill. I went in with a penny-stock mind set. My first few trades were max 1,000 units. So when I did good I got pennies but when I did bad vice-versa(Not Vice-Versa but you know what I mean). Then I learned about margins and, ooh boy let me tell you. All my trades increased to standard lots(100,000u). And i was losing left and right. And then one would be super good. The good one was, a little bit of my knowledge and lot of a fundamental event happening and me not knowing about it. So I road it and got to about $200 Dollars of it. I forgot how much I put into it but, I was hooked. I was running around my room wondering why didn't i try this before! Then the next day came and I lost $500 dollars. I was about to call it quits when, I went thought the subreddit again and saw that the real thing that makes a trader the will power and stubbornness not to give up and to recover from failures. So I buckled up and said lets do this. Everyday I drove to work I'd listen to a Forex podcast. When I got home instead of playing World of Warcraft or spending money on steam for games, I'd sit and look at the charts and learn how to use indicators and how they work. Then I jumped back into the market and began trading. I was still using crazy units but every now and then I'd make a breakthrough. One day I'd make $200-$300 dollars and in the same day lose 90-100% of it. It wasn't until SanDiegoMAGApede (Prob tired of me linking them) commented on one of my post that I began to learn risk management. Then the game was on. My trades were becoming more efficient and my days became more green. I was scalping for the majority of it until I started to see trends in the market. It was about two days ago, I was trading for ten hours straight 7-4pm(Currently getting ready for college so the weekdays are all free to me for a little bit) that i made my first real break though. I saw a trend coming and acted on it. And to my surprise it worked! I got a nice 30-40 pips. Then I longed and got a 10-20 pip gain. Then shorted for a another 30-40 pip gain. (USD/CAD). I was shocked! The next day I tried to do it again and... well lets say I wasn't a happy trader.. Then today came. I've asked questions about Fundamentals here because, one time an event caught me off guard and I lost a lot. So today came and I said to myself "lets trade on this news." I jumped on Forex Factory, set about a dollars worth of Yen on notifications to my phone and waited. It was the longest 5 minutes in my life my heart was racing super fast and then it came.. and I was right!. I road the EUUSD train all the way to the top and sold. Then I shorted and rode about half way before I went to work and closed. I was almost at $2,900 in my account I was trading on my phone on the way to work (as a passenger) which wasn't a good idea because I lost about $100+. I'm a server in a sports bar so work looked like a weekend in the markets. I then decided to go into a party room and start to trade again. I was so close to reaching my goal ($3,000 BP). So for a few hours I traded EUUSD and I then a table came and I left for about 4-5 hours. Got my $17 from work bought a salad and jumped on EUUSD. I was at $2,958 I was eyes on the market. I saw a fighting box(IDK what to call it) and started scalping the living hell out of it. Eventually I made it to $3,001.15. I started to run around the restaurant and jump around. My manger was worried and told me I was scaring him so I calmed down, jump on the phone with my father and was we were both stoked. Here's the link to day one to today: http://imgur.com/j06ycgB . But that's all I want to say. Thanks again guys and thanks for reading! Edit: Added some much needed commas and fixed a few words. I'm still at work.
Podcast/audiobook recommendations for stocks futures and forex?
Hello traders, does anyone have recommendations for podcasts that y’all about current events and market conditions on a regular basis? Not podcasts that try to teach or give tips but ones that might have guests and professionals talking about their bias’, current/upcoming macro events? Audiobooks are way easier to find but if you’ve listened to a good one recently please drop it! Most podcasts I find are just someone giving tips and then trying to sell something or some of the good ones I’ve found haven’t put out an episode for a few years or more. Podcasts seem to be a little harder to find with all the oldest or more popular ones getting pushed to the front even if they’ve been inactive for a while. Thank you for any and all suggestions and I hope everyone is doing well in these wild times!
Does anyone know of any good podcast centered around trading? Looking for something to do with technical training i’ve heard chat with traders and it’s gray but I want something more forex or intraday base
[Guide] Hal-hal esensial yang wajib dimiliki mahasiswa.
Selamat pagi! Salam mahasiswa!
Flash drive : Get an 8GB stick, walaupun sekarang udah serba digital, kadang dosen masih minta print-out tugas.
Google Drivedan isinya (Sheets, Docs, Draw, Slides) : Lo akan mobile for most of your campus life, GDrive gunanya bukan hanya sebagai backup tapi sebagai base of operations dari perkuliahan lo. Separate folders into semesters, lalu di dalamnya bikin folder per matkul, dan di dalamnya pun ada folder buku, tugas, class notes, and etc.
Google Calendar : Start planning through this app. Its highly underrated and I suggest you take time and learn how GCal works. Most people only use this after they started working, getting a head start is always better.
Mendeleyatau reference manager lain : Lu akan menghabiskan waktu 4 tahun baca artikel ilmiah, kadang mereka suka aneh formatting filenya kalo di-download dan mereka udah pasti gak appealing untuk di-save di laptop. Mendeley cuts off all of the problems and puts all of your references in one place. (Available on desktop and mobile)
You will access this site almost every day in uni.
Sci-hub : This is the scalpel of academia, the tool of a true mahasiswa. Nah, this bypasses that and you can have the PDF for FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE. Add extensionnya https://github.com/allanino/sci-hub-fy
E-book manager like Calibre (for PC and iOS) and Aldiko (for Android) : Pretty self-explanatory karena most of the time mahasiswa tingkat awal itu gak tau cara manage folder di laptop.
m-Banking app from your bank : Sekarang apa-apa sudah serba digital, belom lagi kalau lo butuh bayar-bayar atau patungan sama temen.
Go-Jek or Grab (and OVO) : Kemana-mana dan bayar apa-apa lebih gampang.
Cheap OEM earphones : You will have some solace from annoying pieces of shit when you're reading or doing assignments. Browse through any ecommerce site and search for "headset samsung/iphone grosir" and buy 10.
Masker : Well, duh.
Zoom/Skype/Hangouts/Microsoft Teams : Please check on your faculty's specification, sekarang lagi pandemi and I don't think you guys are going back to school any soon.
Powerbank : Trust me, you will forget to charge your phone. One powerbank on the ready will be a life saver, especially during late nights.
OpenOfficeorLibreOffice : I do not condone the piracy of a certain word processing software. Get open-source and just relax. Alternatively, you can go all-out with Google's existing apps inside Drive.
JASP : I also do not condone the piracy of a certain statistics software.
Canva : Untuk anak-anak non-design yang gak bisa design, ditambah gak punya duit untuk hire designer (ya menurut lo), please take time to learn Canva. I would recommend GIMP a few years ago, but Canva has been gold standard of designing for non-designers.
CamScanner : For scanning documents. Available on iOS and Android
Condoms : Just, bring it.
MSDN : Kadang Microsoft kerjasama dengan kampus, check on your faculty.
Tar tambah lagiiiii.......
Get Texas Instrument or Casio.
Dosen PASTI BAKAL PERIKSA GAYA TULISAN ELU DENGAN APA.
KBBI : Dosen Psikologi paling terkenal dengan penulisan dan artikulasi kata, tolong pelajari bentuk baku kata-kata bahasa kita.
3D Brain : Untuk bantu Psiko Abnormal dan Faal.
Buku KUHP dan KUHPER, e-book or printed.
UU yang berkaitan dengan kelas, e-book or printed.
Printer dengan tinta isi ulang alias nyuntik
CompSci, Teknik Informatika, or Sistem Informatika
Spotify Premium : Check if your school is eligible for student discount! I do not condone using modified APK for Spotify Premium.
Audacity : Boleh lah punya kalau mau coba-coba bikin podcast.
SSDs for laptops : This is me speaking from experience, you'll need this if your risk of being in an accident is high. Upgrading to an SSD is 0-1, not only you get great booting and transfer speeds, but your data is almost always protected if amit-amit ketabrak atau laptop kenapa-napa.
TIX.ID : For the time being, jangan ke bioskop dulu. Tapi TIX suka banyak promo buy1get1. Lumayan buat irit duit.
Jobstreet, Kalibrr, JobsDB, Glints : For work opportunities.
Halodoc : Truth be told, this app have saved my life multiple times. I would suggest a healthy diet, but having this on your phone will not hurt one bit.
But basically handy untuk segala situasi, sih.
Aplikasi sekuritas : Bisa mulai belajar, setau gua macem MNC Sekuritas bisa mulai trading dengan Rp100.000.
Discord : Lumayan handy untuk jadi basis chat angkatan. Tapi, mereka lebih cater ke gaming crowd, walaupun fiturnya sebagus Slack Enterprise, tapi entah kenapa susah banget penetrate mainstream user.
To be added later...........
Netflix : Bisa patungan sama temen-temen. I don't suggest buy shady accounts.
Premier League app : Seru loh bikin liga fantasy sama temen-temen.
I'm interested in understanding back testing strategies, and have heard a few podcasts mention Forex Tester. I'm lost most weekends as i'm using IG INdex demo account, and cannot really trade or backtest on the platform. Are there other, better software out there? Or even open-source or free?
Any good podcasts from Professional Forex Traders?
Hey, seems like most of the information about Forex Trading is on blogs, or educational websites, and not on youtube or podcasts. Does anyone here know of a good podcast that explains Forex Trading(preferably from a Professional/ big winner)? Thank you!!!!
In search of forex and/or global economics podcast or radio to listen to during the day.
I'm wondering if anyone can point me in the direction of a FX-related dedicated radio or podcast.. I always listen to books when I'm driving and working .. But I've gone through every trading book I can find on audible (some several times..market wizards series!). I really would like to have a live radio to listen to in order to sort of keep up with events, and just stay in the game when I'm not in front of the charts. I'm aware of ransquawk and I'd use it if their basic package included analysts because otherwise, there's not a lot going on to just sort of listen to on the go for the price even of the upgraded basic package. I guess this would be my best bet as of now.. But if anyone can recommend something else, I'd be really happy to try it. Thanks!

There is a podcast called "Reveal" it has a new episode about MTI the forex training co. I never took any of their training, they seemed a bit too slick for me. It's called "the con man and his mentor" very interesting. Sorry don't have a link.
